Aura "Banyan" Park

Undertaken while at Urbis

While at Urbis the design of Stockland's Banyan Park in Aura was undertaken and construction started. The park is a key playground in Aura's precinct 10, the design centres around a large, mounded play structure with a large play element which looks like a Banyan tree mounted on top the already high mound. This "artificial" tree is framed by large ex ground fig trees to create a grove of shade trees for the park.

The park includes barbeques, shelters, bike circuits and amenities. The half court allows for young adults and older generations to play while an amphitheatre for spectators allows a passive separation from this active space to the play space for the youth age groups.

The parents’ lawn under shade structures allows for casual picnics while having the ability to be able to watch over the younger children's play area and even up to the mound where older children may be playing.

This all-ages park caters for a wide range of people and abilities as well as being located near the arterial bike track for easy access for locals.
