Harmony Estate linear Park
Undertaken while at Urbis
The 3rd local park to be built within Harmony Estate by Avid is a continuation of the Grand Linear Park stages 1 & 2 designed while at Urbis.
This 3rd park is designed to cater for a younger age group, however through incidental play it can cater for an older age group also.
The playground itself is centred around a piece of play equipment which includes an undulating boardwalk and small tower/lookout. There is also a small dome play piece which is multi faceted, this piece is designed to be used by all ages and the play piece manufacturer has undertaken research into its benefits with regard to children with sensory disorders and allowing safe enclosed zones for alone time.
There is a small area for toddlers/babies with their own rubber softfall and sand area which includes a surprise "dino dig" in the sand.
Incidental play is an important aspect to this park to allow for a sensory and exploratory experience. This is through the inclusion of elements such as; some sensory plants and undulating stepping stones through the garden.
